Last week, Longines was proud to take part for the first time in the Longines Balve Optimum as its Title Partner, Official Watch and Official Timekeeper. This Show jumping and Dressage competition takes place every summer since 1948 in the German city of Balve. This year, the equestrian event was held from June 13 to June 16.
Longines Marketing Vice President, Matthieu Baumgartner commented: "We are especially proud to associate our name with the Longines Balve Optimum. This new partnership reinforces our long-lasting passion for the equestrian universe, which dates back one century and half. More particularly, we, at Longines, attach a great importance to support events that are aligned with our core values of tradition, elegance and performance, which are perfectly embodied by the Longines Balve Optimum.”
On Sunday, 16 June, the Dressage rider Isabell Werth and her mount Emilio 107 claimed the title of the Longines Grosser Optimum Preis. Later that day, Felix Hassmann and his horse Cayenne WZ won the Longines Optimum Preis show jumping competition. To celebrate their victory, Longines was proud to present the two winners with elegant timepieces.
The spectators present in Balve had the opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event: a model from the HydroConquest Collection. Combining technical excellence and traditional elegance both hallmarks of the winged hourglass brand, this line features a bezel enhanced with a coloured ceramic insert adding a touch of brilliance and modern styling.
