“Search for the oldest Longines watch in China” set off in elegance; Aaron Kwok presented 100-year cultural legend of Longines in Shijiazhuang (Shijiazhuang, China)
World-famous renowned watch brand Longines recently held a grand opening ceremony for its new store located in Xiantianxia Shopping Mall in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province. Aaron Kwok, Longines Ambassador of Elegance was present at the ceremony. What's more, the brand started the campaign of "Search for the oldest Longines watch in China" in this ceremony.
It was also on August 30 that Aaron Kwok's latest movie Empire of Silver was premiered in China. Through the ups and downs of a Shanxi merchant family, this magnificent historical movie reflected the tortuous story of Shanxi banks from wax to wane in late Qing dynasty. Aaron Kwok played the role of "Third Master", an idealistic and hedonistic young man. A movie with deep cultural implications and a legend that depicts historical stories, it reminds people of 1867 when the first Longines watch bearing the emblem of a winged hourglass traveled across the ocean to China. To pay tribute to the resplendent Chinese culture and presenting a legendary history of over 140 years between Longines and China, Longines especially planned the "Longines and China" History of Elegance Exhibition that contains wonderful elements from Empire of Silver during the opening ceremony, and took the opportunity to grandly set off the campaign of "Search for the oldest Longines watch in China":
All owners of antique Longines watches in China can participate in the event during September 1 - December 20, 2009. Participants can submit information and photo of their watches at any franchise store of the brand in China or by downloading an application form from Longines' Chinese website www.longines.cn. The brand will carry out professional confirmation and certification of the watch lid and movement serial number of all participating watches to select 20 oldest extant Longines watches in China.
Meanwhile, to correspond with the 4-week "Longines and China" History of Elegance Exhibition, the site arrangement for the opening ceremony absorbed many traditional Chinese cultural elements. The high-standing classic-style gate seems to open the door to over 140 years of bond of elegance between Longines and China. In the center of the exhibition area, accompanied by the classic furnitures and blue and white porcelain imitating the style of Qing dynasty, an exhibition wall decorated with ancient window lattice looks more antique, simple and elegant. Two priceless antique Longines watches placed in the lattice embodies more than 100 years of cultural accumulation and radiated graceful but dazzling luster, obtaining admiring exclamations from countless observers.
