“Roland-Garros in China"- The French Open makes its debut in Beijing

As official timekeeper for Roland-Garros since 2007, Longines is delighted to be partner of “Roland-Garros in China”, a series of events organized by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) in partnership with Havas Sports & Entertainment and the China Tennis Association (CTA). Longines is present since 1867 in China, where the Swiss watch brand is very well known. Therefore, Longines is eager to promote the French Open and the famous clay court in China.

This event is bringing the excitement of the French Open to The Place, Beijing’s landmark shopping plaza in the heart of the financial district, from 2nd to 10th June. “Roland-Garros in Beijing” is offering a unique occasion to Chinese audiences to discover a taste of the clay court culture. Chinese spectators can experience the French Open in a typical Parisian setting with its characteristic streetlamps and public benches. Open to the public, the nine-day event features a variety of daily activities.

At the occasion of “Roland-Garros in Beijing”, Jiaqi Ren, the young girl who will represent China at the Longines Future Tennis Aces tournament in Paris was presented at the opening. She played on the clay court at “Roland-Garros in Beijing”, showing her tennis skills.
